AmeraMex International Provides Company Update
Algerian projects and U.S. expansion to open new doors in construction equipment market and boost sales
CHICO, CA – December 18, 2009 – AmeraMex International, Inc. (OTC: AMMX), a provider of heavy equipment to infrastructure construction, stevedoring and commercial construction, today provided updates on their Algerian projects and the planned merger between the company and Cromer Equipment Co. of Oakland, California.
In early January, AmeraMex President and CEO Lee Hamre and Marchetti Construction President Joseph Marchetti will be meeting in the U.S. with Abdelbaki Talbi, Vice President of ETHPE Construction. During his visit, Mr. Talbi will be examining 25 over-the-road trucks and 20 pieces of miscellaneous heavy equipment, including bulldozers and garbage trucks, which AmeraMex has readied for shipment to Algeria. All of the equipment is new, as the Algerian government has banned the import of refurbished heavy equipment.
Mr. Talbi’s visit to the U.S. will be followed up in mid-January by a visit to Algeria by Marchetti and Hamre to firm up the formation of a new company with ETHPE’s management. The first two construction projects have been identified.
Lee Hamre commented, “Mr. Talbi will also be visiting a concrete pipe plant that is on the market. The plant can be broken down for transport to Algeria, where growing demands for modern infrastructure and public works projects are on the rise. The concrete pipe plant would reduce project costs significantly.”
Cromer Equipment Co. of Oakland, California, is currently renting office and shop space at AmeraMex headquarters for its sales rep and technicians to sell and service some of the equipment lines Cromer represents and services in Northern California. Cromer and AmeraMex have joined to buy a package of used container handling equipment from a large customer who is replacing its current fleet with up-to-date, EPA Tier III-compliant equipment. The package is comprised of over 50 large machines, which AmeraMex and Cromer have already begun transporting to the AmeraMex machine yard for refurbishment and sale.
